Same with me. I love their music, but can't dig those vocals. Still respect the hell outta the band though

Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death

This album is fucking VIOLENT. Holy shit, this album just goes to show that the midwest (MS are from Sheboygan, Wisconsin) can make some of the craziest music of all time. They were so good that they were one of Death's favorite bands to open for them. I can't think of any other way to be more honored.

This album is chaos in its true form. Everything on here is violent and chaotic as hell. The guitar is distorted and fast, the drums are all around intense, and the vocals are evil and pissed off. Unfortunately, my only complaint about this album is that there is some filler, such as the 42 second clean title track, not really necessary on an album like this. And some parts of certain songs (odd enough, not on either of the two 7 minute tracks) kind of drag on. But the parts that are good, are AWESOME.

Sucks that they only released one album. But if you like chaotic, violent and all around fast thrash, check out this album. But be warned, it could cause you to do some pretty violent shit

Highlights:
Crying for Death
Lock Up Your Children
Scars
Great choice. They did release a 2nd album 4 years later called Destruction System that was more Bathory-esque.

Cool seeing Nuclear Assault but I would have gone with Game Over. Hang the Pope is the best 38 seconds in the history of music and REALLY causes me to do violent shit. hahaha

Sodom - Tapping the Vein

Sodom has a fairly large discography. With classics such as Agent Orange and Persecution Mania (which I love both), it's not hard to overlook the other albums, especially in the early 90s. I absolutely love Sodom, and Tapping the Vein has to be my favorite out of all their excellent releases.

What's different on this album compared to their other releases is that this kind of has a darker atmosphere to it. Everything is HEAVY and they manage to combine it with a black metal atmosphere and some of their obvious punk influences while doing so. The guitar is crushing, the bass has the signature chainsaw sound, and the drums are powerful and fast.

From the moment that this album starts, you know in for a hell of a ride. This album never lets down. When it's not fast and brutal, it's slow, crushing and heavy (see: One Step Over the Line). This is an extremely underrated gem right here. I'm sure a bunch of people on here have heard Agent Orange, In the Sign of Evil, and Persecution Mania, but if you haven't heard this one, listen to it! I'd easily classify it with the 3 aforementioned in terms of being a classic.

Highlights:
Body Parts
The Crippler
One Step Over the Line

Tapping the Vein is my favorite Sodom album too!

The album's early death metal influence really makes it stand out from their other records. They need to do more albums in this vein

Meh, not a huge fan of this one. Much prefer Agent Orange, self-titled, even M-16 and Persecution Mania.

Well you'll either love or hate this next one here. I do believe it's the last one with higher pitched vocals. Well, I guess there is one more higher up the list right before the top 5 but the vocals are not THAT high. But if you hate that band I'm talking about (the one before the top 5) you don't deserve to live.

Municipal Waste - The Art of Partying

This album is a party in itself! Probably one of the funnest albums to listen to.

If you don't already know Municipal Waste, they are another crossover styled thrash band. The songs are fairly short (longest one is 2:38) and it's non stop riffs and chaos throughout the album. As the album title states for itself, the lyrics on here focus on drinking, smoking, partying and all around raging.

The instruments itself are nothing very special, just straight up fast crossover playing. What I do love about them though is that they're equally mixed so you can hear everything well. The vocals are definitely understandable too. The vocals are usually alternated by the frontman and I believe the bassist.

There's not much else to say about this album except that it's one of the funnest albums to listen to. It never lets down at any point and it's just one big party in itself!

To sum this album up in one phrase: MUNICIPAL WASTE IS GONNA FUCK YOU UP!

Highlights:
The Art of Partying
Beer Pressure
Born to Party

Tapping In The Vein was actually probably the first Sodom record I heard and fell in love with.
