Hands down KILL. It was the 1st album for them I was able to see them live with, so I do have a bias because it was "my era's album," like how the past two Iron Maiden albums have been "mine".

KILL combined all that was great about the brutal cacophony that is the majority of Corpse, with the slower "sludgier" sound that is Gallery of Suicide. All of their releases are solid efforts, but when you come down to bringing in 20 years of music into one disc, you get a sound that defines the band. KILL is the culmination of all the years of Cannibal Corpse neatly wrapped in a body bag.

I'm surprised Kill is getting as much love as it is. It's a killer album but I just thought most people preferred the older stuff.

Same. I personally don't think Kill was up to par with their older material. And by older I mean stuff before Kill.

I'm not surprised Kill is getting so much love. It kind of broke new ground for them with the almost squeaky-clean production, and the songwriting is much more cohesive... not to mention, the album is much heavier... than the last several albums that came before it.

Personally The Wretched Spawn is my least favorite album, it's not that bad but I've always thought of it as a slightly watered-down continuation of Gore Obsessed. Kill was a breath of fresh air for me, and probably some of the people here who voted for it.

I gotcha. KILL definitely opened the death metal doors to a lot of newer metal fans.

Plus it helps to tour like crazy with a lot of "underground" Death Metal acts that brings out the youth who haven't heard a good amount Cannibal Corpse. KILL breathed new life into them.

I did! It's my favorite death metal album of all time, as a matter o' fact

The Bleeding in a close 2nd, and Vile in a very close 3rd.
