Out of all the big nu-metal bands (Slipknot, Disturbed, Korn, etc.) I liked Slipknot the best. I dressed up as Corey during their Iowa days for Halloween once! It was pretty awesome. Most of the songs I still like are from this album.

And the fucking soundtrack version of My Plague still rips.

edit: i also don't really consider Linkin Park nu-metal >_>

IMO

Rage Against the Machine: alternative metal

Linkin Park: alternative rock/alternative metal

Although I don't listen to Nu-Metal much anymore it all has a special place in my heart
Disturbed and Slipknot are the whole reason I listen to metal and every time I hear them I nostalgia everywhere.

But this album kicks ass

Edit:

I remember in 6th grade when we had the bullshit get to know each other crap, when they asked me what was my favorite song, I got up with a serious face and I was like "PEOPLE EQUAL SHIT"

I still enjoy Slipknot quite a bit. Iowa is a good record, not my favorite, but still good. The Heretic Anthem, People=Shit, and Skin Ticket are still my favorites off this record. People=Shit is so angsty, but it's so awesome at the same time.
