Jani Lane dead at 47...

Lane's body was discovered at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodland Hills, California. So far, no official cause of death has been released. In February, Lane canceled all of his previously announced solo tour dates two days before the first show was due to take place. No explanation was offered for the cancelation. ...

He was one of the nicest most genuine "rock stars" I ever met, ever. He signed all my albums without hesitation, made sure to ask me my first name, just a real good guy with a heart of gold.
It was a running joke that me and my friends knew not to buy tickets to his solo shows because he would just cancel the day before or even the day of (happened about 4 times to my memory). I'm just really glad I got to see him play a few times.

Not really a fan, but I saw what the guy went through in recent years and its heartbreaking that it comes to this
That whole genre has been hurt by substance abuse

Not shocking at all if you watched videos of him performing when he got back with Warrant, but still sad. R.I.P.

Damn. I almost got tt see him perform with Warrant just before he left the band.... But Billy Idol was playing at the same time further down the beach, so I went with him. Had I known this would happen, and that he would've left Warrant shortly after that night, I would've went to see Warrant instead...
