Metallica/Megadeth supergroup?

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine says he wants to form a Megadeth/Metallica supergroup. He told Texas radio station 97.1 The Eagle Rocks, “I’ve talked to Lars [Ulrich] and James [Hetfield] about me and David [Ellefson, Megadeth bassist] doing a supergroup record with Lars and James.

"Well, James said ‘no,’ but it’s still kind of out there in the air,” he said. “I’m gonna keep hammering on him. It’s on my bucket list.”

But seriously, whats so super about being in a band with James and Lars besides $$$$

I mean, James can't sing for shit any more and Lars is horribal on drums now. I'd rather the super group be Mustaine, Lombardo (did I spell right?), Belladona, Kirk, and for bass well that's a toss up between any of the Big 4 bassists.

I don't see this ever happening. Didn't James get all on Jason Newstead's ass years ago for him doing Echobrain? For that reason alone I don't see this ever seeing the light of day. I wouldn't put it passed them to do some kind of one off shows or something like that but an actual album when Metallica tours atleast for 2-3 years per album and then spend 2-4 years between albums that math adds up to no chance of this happening.

I've always wanted a Big 4 supergroup. Take one guy from each band, and call them The 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I think it should look something like this...

Drums - Dave Lombardo
Bass - Dave Ellefson
Rhythm guitar - Scott Ian
Lead guitar/vocals - James Hetfield

The thing with Jason certainly did happen, but James has allowed himself to participate in side projects from time to time. It was a jealousy thing with Jason, everyone in Metallica is free to do what they want. That said, I can't see this "super" group happening, and even if it did, it's about 25 years too late.
