10 Songs that Define Each Metal Genre

So I'm pretty bored and so I was wondering, if you guys had to make a list to define each genre in Metal(Death, Thrash, Black, Etc.) and were limited to 10 songs per genre, what songs would it be for each genre?

I'm slightly buzzed and I hope this makes sense...
But yeah, I'm interested as to what you guys will choose.

Black metal:

5 that laid the foundations:

Bathory - Sacrifice
Venom - Witching Hour
Hellhammer - Messiah
Celtic Frost - Into The Crypts Of Rays
Sarcofago - INRI

5 that refined it to what it is:

Mayhem - De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Darkthrone - Under A Funeral Moon
Burzum - Jesus' Tod
Immortal - Call Of The Wintermoon
Enslaved - Lifandi Liv Undir Hamri

Just my opinion. Also a pretty standard list/great beginning bands for people looking to get into black metal.

Was going to do a doom one but a) didn't think that without Witchfinder General and Trouble albums in my collection I could legitmately claim a top 10 tracks having not considered those two, and b) couldn't be fucked.

I'm gonna go waaaaaay back. I hate the Beatles w/ a passion but the argument can be made that Helter Skelter might have had first metal-ish riff even w/ my dislike for them.

If not that the song Black Sabbath IMO is the definitive song for metal. Blue Cheer should get some credit too.
