I am sure because Matt Heafy announced it. I wouldn't have known otherwise, I'm not a Trivium fan.

Yeah Giles is my favorite Unearth song and Watch it Burn is my favorite song of 2011 so far.

I'll give a short review:

Of course, my buddies and I had to get hammered before hand, as beers are $9+ at the Comcast Center. We knew the company gives out a shit load of free Rockstar drinks, which is awesome, so we smuggled in a flask of vodka, and make some cocktails I really didn't watch a lot of bands, as I spent my time between filming the bands I really liked heading back to the tent to refill our cocktails. The only thing that really bummed me out was how long the meet and greet lines were. We planned on trying to meet All Shall Perish, but their line was stupid long, and it probably would have made us miss Machine Head.

All Shall Perish : Great as usual. These are cool guys who really enjoy playing live, and they sounded great. I filmed them, but it probably won't be great. My buddy got his digicam real close, so we'll have a nice 2-cam. Thought their new songs sounded great live. 9/10

Machine Head : Hadn't seen them in 2+ years, wish I could see them w/ a longer set. A very powerful set by the old dudes, and their sound was solid. Same deal w/ filming them as ASP. 8/10

Trivium : Some people think these guys suck live, but I think they're great. Their guitars were very clear, and I always feel pumped up when I see them live. Didn't film, as there weren't many people around, would've been easy for security to bust my ass.

Megadeth : This is coming from a Megadeth fan, mind you: they sucked. I saw them last year in Glens Falls and they were much better. Dave always turns his vocals down, but they were almost inaudible this year. They just didn't seem into it. And the setlist sucked. Filmed them as well, will be ok but not great. Lot's of people moving around in front of me and such, so there will be some obstructions. But on the whole, I am a fan, and hearing some of their songs still got me pumped. 6.5/10

Godsmack : Another band people hate on. However, I've never seen them put on a bad show. Setlist was OK, and I Stand Alone is one of my all-time favorite live songs. Their guitars were very clear and strong, overall a very good performance. 9/10

Disturbed : Hopefully these guys don't break up, but just do the hiatus. Their live shows are very stagnant, and they just don't seem to be into it. Overall not bad, but I've seen them several times before, and this was their worst performance. 6/10

Nah, sorry Man. Big Trivium fan I am and really wanted to film 'em, but as I said, they main stage stands were friggin' dead, and it would have been really easy for security to spot me filming. I probably could've pulled it off, but didn't wanna risk it.

It's no big deal
I really can't wait till Mayhem, seeing a lot of bands I've yet to see for the first time. Really worried about having the last date though

You will have a blast, man. I've been to Mayhem 3 out the 4 years, and they've all been among my best concert experiences. It's a true fuckin good time. I don't know if you drink, but I love to get hammered beforehand, soak in the atmosphere (well, besides some the scumbags's B.O.) and rock out. I just wish I lived closer to some, so I'd be able to go to more than 1.

I wouldn't be worried about having the last date. In fact, that probably means the bands will be more likely go balls out.

I really wouldn't be worried about being the last date. Actually I would say you are lucky to have the last date. I have been to the last date of a tour twice (Two years ago Hatebreed/Unearth/Cannibal Corpse and last week with Children Of Bodom/Devin Townsend/Obscura/Septic Flesh) and let me tell you, those where the best performances I've seen from all those bands. They tend to give it all they got on the last night of a tour.
