Spinefarm Allstars album

Apparently before the end of the year Spinefarm Records are going to pull the same trick Roadrunner and, more successfully, Nuclear Blast pulled and get members from a bunch of their bands to record collaborations together.

Unnamed members of the following bands are confirmed to far:

Ensiferum
Moonsorrow
Finntroll
Medea
Swallow The Sun
Shining (Sweden)

Doubt it's going to be that good...

I'll probably check it out just because I like a lot of the Spinefarm bands, but I don't have any expectations. Finntroll/Ensiferum collab would be interesting. I know there's a video of them doing something like that live (except just playing their own material, nothing co-written). But yeah, like you said, I can't picture this being a must-have album.

There were two.

Nuclear Blast Allstars - Into The Light was all melodic vocalists and power/heavy/prog metal musicians (more or less).

Nuclear Blast Allstars - Out of The Dark was all extreme vocalists/musicians.

In both cases they came with a bonus disc containing rare tracks by some of the bands who contributed.

Pfft. The fact alone that members of Ensiferum, Moonsorrow, Swallow The Sun and Swedish Shining will make this leaps and bounds better than HURR ANDERS and DURR TARJA
