Peter Gabriel -- Kansas City, MO -- June 18th, 2011
I know this will probably be moved, but fuck it. And this may not get many views, but fuck it. I know there are some Peter Gabriel fans here..somewhere
![]() where are you Brad?!? This show was absolutely fucking great. It was at the Starlight Theater and my first time being there and it's really nice, not a bad seat in the house ![]() Any who, this show was unlike any I've been to before. Hands down. The atmosphere, the mood was extremely different. The night started off with Gabriel coming on stage and introducing the whole thing as well as one of the women in the orchestra, and she does a little two song folk set, and it was pretty good ![]() After she went off about 5 minutes later the orchestra began playing David Bowie's "Heroes" and that was their first song. The set continued with a few more surprising covers(but very good) covers. Then he went on to his own material. And it was fantastic I was really skeptical, excited, but skeptical about the addition of the orchestra and the removal of EVERYTHING else. But it turned out very good. Overall the orchestra was very tight sounding, it even contained musicians from here in KC(how they did that in time I'm not sure). But it sounded great. The orchestra versions sounded great, and were very interesting to hear. The songs sounded different, but still had the familiarity to them. And Gabriel's voice was perfect. Exactly the same as on record.Overall the this night was pretty badass, and to any Peter Gabriel fans(BECAUSE I KNOW YOU ARE HERE), I would recommend it. Absolutely fantastic . Here's the set. Might be the slightest bit of out of order and I had to get a couple of song titles from Setlist.fm, but it's pretty legit. Heroes(David Bowie cover) Wallflower Après Moi(Regina Spektor cover) The Boy in the Bubble(Paul Simon cover) My Body is a Cage(Arcade Fire) Father, Son Darkness Washing of the Water Beko (one of the best of the night )--Intermission-- San Jacinto Digging in the Dirt Signal to Noise Mercy Street Rhythm of the Heat Downside up Blood of Eden Intruder Red Rain Solsbury Hill Encore: In Your Eyes Don't Give up The Nest That Sailed in the Sky |

Kate Bush is my favorite artist of all time and Peter Gabriel worked with her several times so I like him. I've listen to early Genesis too.

Yeah, that's a good set. I'm seeing him in Milwaukee on the 29th, 14TH ROW!!! I'm a little skeptical about the orchestra, but every review I've read is very positive, so I'm sure it will be good.
