Black Label Society -- Buffalo, NY -- May 17th, 2011

This is my first posting of a set list, so forgive me for any errors, or for anything against metalsetlists etiquette. Went to the Town Ballroom in Buffalo to see BLS, with my brother, and some kid that keeps calling me dad. I told him the DNA test came back negative, but he just wont listen

But I digress. We got there, and werent into the first two clunker bands, so we just hung out near the bar, and checked out girls. We went in before ATR came on. I dont care too much for them, but they were ok. They at least got the blood flowing.

So on to BLS. Ive seen BLS about 7 or 8 times and this is by far the best they have sounded. They ripped right through the first 6 songs. Everyone got all sweaty and was going crazy. I think it may be thanks to Zakks new found sobriety that they sounded so good. It was nice to hear tunes from 1919. The place was full and into all the songs. Suicide Messiah caused total chaos. That is a great live tune. The only negative was no song from STD, and the setlist was kind of short. Just and hour and 15. but thats standard for them, so I wasnt expecting anything much longer. Well this has been kind of a long winded review, so I'll get on with it. The setlist goes like this:

Crazy Horse
Funeral Bell
Bleed For Me
Demise Of Sanity/Superterrorizer teaser (like they couldent play it?)
Overlord
Parade Of The Dead
Born To Lose
Darkest Days
Fire It Up
The "Zakk we know you can shred, self indulgent, could have played another song" Guitar solo
Godspeed Hellbound
The Blessed Hellride
Suicide Messiah
Concrete Jungle
Stillborn

Highlights: Crazy Horse, Bleed for Me, Demise of Sanity, Funeral Bell, Godspeed Hellbound, Suicide Messiah, the first 2 bands leaving the stage, and copious amounts of cleavage.
That is all.

Great performance by BLS. Hearing my two favorite songs from them, BFM and DOS was awesome. It's also cool that Zakk actually changed the set up a bit for the better on this leg. Maybe sobriety is what he needed.

I thought that was the riff for Superterrorizer at the end of DOS but Zakk cut it off so quick it's almost like it didn't happen. Too bad they couldn't play it but at least we got some cool set changes.

I'm surprised by no ITR but I think Darkest Days is a better song and they've done ITR enough that it's OK they gave it a break for a bit.

Not bad although he could've easily wiped out a few songs in favor of more guitar solos...

Atleast his solo wasn't 20 minutes like the last time I saw him.

I'm seeing this tour on May 31 in Chicago. Can't wait. Demise of Sanity is my favorite BLS song as well. Definitely looking forward to that the most.

Holy, fuck you got songs off of 1919 Eternal!

I didn't think that was ever going to happen again.

Yeah. Given how great the crowds reaction was for BFM and DOS it's a mystery to me as to why 1919 isn't represented regularly.

I'm guessing these set changes have been going since this new leg started a few weeks ago but I haven't seen any other reviews so i'm not sure. But i'm pretty positive that's the case.

Funeral Bell? NICE! I guess he's trying to atone for putting out the worst cd of 2011. I give him props for that.

Are you talking about the acoustic album they just came out with? I wasn't planning on listening to it anyways. I don't mind a few slower songs but a whole albums worth is just
