Got that right.

And Steal This Album IMO is extremely underrated.

System of a Down has always stayed true to their sound, they have always had mainstream attention please tell me how they sold out. Isn't selling out when a band changes their sound to something different to fit in with the mainstream?

so let me get this straight....

It's the 10th anniversary of Toxicity, the record that got them known (also, arguably, their best album), and the notion of playing it doesn't cross their minds?

But, if that wasn't enough, time for a game of good idea/bad idea

Good idea: play 27 songs for your come back tour
Bad idea: 15 of them are from your shittiest albums.
Even WORSE idea: play exactly ZERO songs from one of your strongest records.

You know, a year ago, I would have just said "Fuck Darron Malakian." It's time for some revising.

Fuck this band.

A little heavy on latter material, but I'm happy to see Know, War, Lost In Hollywood and Holy Mountains in there.

Holy shit Tentative and Soldier Side, nice. Two of my favorites from Hypnotize. No Steal is lame, but goddamn I wish I was seeing that setlist this year.

And Mez/Hyp are their best albums. Fight me.

Sounds like they're tuning to Drop C again.

I really have no idea how you can call System of a Down "sellouts." Toxicity sold 12 million copies, and even their self titled was put out on a major label and could be purchased at Best Buy, Borders etc. Mezmerize/Hypnotize are little different musically, but they retained the weirdness, political lyrics and everything else that makes System of a Down what they are. Hell, Toxicity has sold more copies than those albums. Unless you were a fan of the demo/club show days (which you were not) then you can't accuse them of selling out since throughout their career they've been headlining huge tours, selling tons of albums and being played on the radio.

I grew up listening to System of a Down and pre ordered both Mezmerize and Hypnotize from my local Circuit City (RIP) and I can still remember popping those CDs in my portable CD player and listening to them straight over and over again. I haven't really listened to System of a Down in a few years, but I loved those albums when they came out and I still do. Also, if you tally it up they play more off Toxicity and SOAD than they do Mezmerize/Hypnotize, and they still play around 6 songs off each of the 4 records. That's a pretty damned mixed set as far as I'm concerned, plus I'll finally get to see System live. I can't wait.
