Yea I only know the first three Deicide albums, but Ralph is miles ahead of the Hoffman brothers lead wise.

The only Monstrosity song I've heard is their brilliant cover of Angel of Death. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTDDQ0tfBSI

The opening riff to this Monstrosity song is one of my all-time favorite Death Metal riffs.

Cannibal Corpse
Vile
1996

Following Chris Barnes' departure, Cannibal Corpse did what they had to do to prove they could move along (and improve) : make a fucking killer album. Vile was CC's best selling album at the time, and deservedly so. From the opening scream of 'Devoured by Vermin' through the solid finisher 'Monolith', this album does not have anything close to a weak track, and is as diverse an album that anything CC has ever done.

'Devoured by Vermin' feature's an amazing 15-20 secong scream courtesy of George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher. He and Barnes are so different as vocalists, but he fit right in w/ CC, and throughout the album proves he is one of the best vocalists in death metal history. Go ahead, bring on the hate. The song continues w/ a technical rythym and slowish middle section that leads into a killer solo. 'Mummified in Barbed Wire' is the first tune that showcases Corpsegrinder's amazing ability to belt out deep, gutteral growls almost inhumanly fast. I wish more singers in all genres of extreme metal would use faster lyrics. 'Disfigured' is a groovy, sludgy tune w/ the catchiest of rythyms. I always get bizarre looks at the gym when this comes on my iPod, cause I have a special "point" I do when I hear it, a la Stimpy to the muddy mudskipper commercial 'Bloodlands' is another amazing tune, so is 'Puncture Wound Massacre'. An amazingly fast number about killing a bunch of people at a party. Good stuff. 'Orgasm Through Torture' is one of my favorite CC tunes of all time. A very technical song w/ a pounding double bass throughout. Such a shame it's no longer played live. The only complaint I have about this album is it's production. It's kinda fuzzy, and the snares are quiet in areas. Could be even better with improvements in those parts. Again, such an amazing, diverse album. It combines brutal death, some tech death, and even some grind. Absolutely great stuff.

Sick tune. My 50 year-old father's favorite song too

I really like Vile's production. It has that raw, old school feel with pretty good (for the time) production values. It also has Corpsegrinder's best vocal performance, IMO.

While I don't agree with this being a "best of all time" album, or even having "best of all time songs" I'm glad someone finally stood up for Job For A Cowboy. I know a lot of people here give them shit but you know what, I think they are damn good. No way in hell they deserve a spot over Malevolent Creation, but I'm glad someone stood up for them
