Ruination

Yeah yeah yeah, more hate. Not doing this list to please. This album just does it for me. Not overtly brutal, techincal, fast or original. But there is a perfect blend of all to make it sound great to me. And I'm a big fan of Jonny's vocals. This album also sticks out to me cause it's such an improvement musically over 'Genesis'. While I also loved that the songs were more decipherable than their previous album.

The first 2 tracks are decent, but track 3 'Constitutional Masturbation' kills it. A really cool chrous highlight it for me. The 7th and 8th tracks respectively, are some of the best on the album. As I've mentioned before, I think a lot of death metal albums get stale with the "early-end" part before finishing with a solid tune or 2. Not the case w/ this one. My favorite tune comes towards the end w/ 'Detonate and Exterminate'. Just fucking love it. The vocals are some of my favorite of JFAC's career, and it's a great live opener.

Standout Tracks
Constitutional Masturbation
Detonate and Exterminate
I'll give it to ya, this definitely is JFAC's best work. Not deathcore, anyway.

I really dig Ruination. I wasn't really a fan of JFAC untill this came out, I was impressed with this record. Their new EP Gloom is even better. I am glad they dropped the deathcore and evolved their sound

JFAC ranked higher than Death. Really. Well, this is one thread I never need to spend time reading again.

Eh, personal favorites, my friend. I love how some of you take this so seriously, when it's simply one dude's personal favorite albums.

I like post-Doom JFAC. Not enough for one of their albums to be in my personal Top 10, but worthy enough for me to listen to every once in a while.

I forgot to mention that music aside, Ruination had one of my favorite album covers of all time.

All Shall Perish
The Price of Existence
2005

Another band that will piss some people off. I just love these guys. Yes, they're deathcore, but at the same time, they aren't. Their range of melodies, technical prowess (especially guitar + bass), Eddie's vocals, and on top of that, they're great song writers; all lead me to love these guys. They've actually been around since 2002. Arguably, the first "true" deathcore band (along w/ Despised Icon). 3 years before JFAC, and 4 before Whitechapel. This album sticks out to me because they kept it brutal without getting too wank and melodic (something I thought they went a little far w/ on "Awaken the Dreamers").

The opening track 'Eradication' is probably my favorite ASP tune. A really fast and technical main rythym stand out as the strength to this track. 'Wage Slaves', at #2, is probably ASP's most known song. It's a slower, groovy, brutally heavy tune, and is also a great live closer. 'The Day of Justice' is another great one, and 'The True Beast' strengthens the bottom. I was really happy (and surpised) to see them play this on their tour w/ Kataklysm this past spring. And speaking of them live, they're great!! Definately check them out!!!

Standout Tracks
Eradication - Shamelessly promoting my own video
Wage Slaves

I actually like All Shall Perish, but they were one of the worst bands I've ever seen live.
