I was just thinking of some of my personal favorite records that could fit this list, and was throwing out some ideas.

You guys just don't get it, do you...what makes you think those albums will make his list? I haven't seen anything on his list that resembles jd's picks, that's why.

I was thinking the same thing. Ghost Reveries is barely death metal.

Well, he said he'd include all derivations of death metal, and earlier in the thread I asked if we'd see Opeth, and he responded with this:

And the Top 10..........

Disincarnate
Dreams of The Carrion Kind
1993

A band a lot of people here have never heard of. I stumbled upon these guys by chance (and some luck), but being bored at work and Googling Death band members and shit. These guys' were founded by James Murphy, of Death and Testamnent fame. It's damn shame these guys only released one album. I think what stuck out to me the most on this album was how typical it sounded for Florida Brutal Death Metal, but at the same time, how unique it was. It incorperates some melody and emotion into many of the solos, nearly all of which are awesome. Also, it's quite complex for brutal death. There are no 8 minute anthems, but each song features a wide array of riffs, tempo changes and solos. Really great stuff. Vocals are pretty average for brutal death, but effective. TBH, don't really feel like going into a track-by-track synopsis. Just check this amazing album out!!

Standout Tracks
In Sufferance
Stench of Paradise Burning

This.

Mods, please delete this thread in its entirety if Altars and SBG are not at least in the top five.

EDIT: Also, I haven't read every single page in this thread, so if it has been mentioned already, I beg your pardon, but this needs to be in here somewhere as well:

Very surprising pick there. I love James Murphy's work so I've been familiar with Disincarnate for a while now. One of the best death metal guitarists of all time.
