The Meatmen -- Long Beach, CA -- April 15th, 2011

This show was at Alex's bar in Long Beach. My buddies and I got to the show around 8 or so and pregamed for a bit, know that we wanted to go in around 10pm so we could catch Against the Grain. Well we did so as planned and I got so fucking screwed over it was bullshit. I hate Alex's Bar now. I bought presale tickets for this show cause I figured it would sell out, but it was no where near selling out. I walked up, handed the lady my id and she told me I had already checked in. There was no possible way I had checked in, there was no one I would have sneaked in before me. She told me I had to wait outside while they figured something out, which meant go away till the line dies down and then we'll make you pay. I heard ATG going on and was pissed I wasn't up front to experience it. I heard one song I recognized, but didn't remember the name. I'm lucky R2D2(my Droid 2) gets the internet and I brought up my receipt for the show, the lady instantly stamped my hand, but Alex had to question me real quick to see if I was pulling a fast one on him, then let me in. At this point ATG was finishing up so I missed them I was really looking forward to seeing them. I went outside and found a friend of mine who I hadn't seen in years and apparently the same thing happened to him, his name was crossed off before he walked in. Looks like the dipshit lady at the door was crossing off peoples names without paying enough attention to who she was supposed to cross off, ughh.

Black Fag went on around 11 and played such a great set!! Holy shit!! I have been waiting over 5 years to see these guys and loved every second of it. The two back up singer were hysterical. The crowd went crazy as we all got to hear our favorite Black Flag songs. Too bad they didn't play Depression.

Slip it In
Gimme Gimme Gimme
Nervous Breakdown
Thirsty and Miserable
Six Pack(Lobster*)
Fix Me
I've Had It
No Values(Cowboy*)
Rise Above*
Jealous Again
Louie Louie*

* denotes some gay shit they did to make the song silly

Up next were the Meatmen. Tesco had soo much god damn energy it was unreal. He kept throwing out funny ass flags to the crowd. one said 2 down 2 to go, or another said god is a fucking asshole hahahaha. I scored a setlist but some songs were cut. I recognized most of the songs, but there were a handful I didn't, so I'm going to post the uncut set for now

Ramblin' Rose
Abba God and Me
Meatmen Stomp
Dumping Ground
Shut up and Suck
Lesbian Death Dirge
Becoming a Gay Man
Tooling for Anus
Whats This Shit Called
Suck Trilogy
I Sin for a Living
Mr. Tapeworm
2 Down 2 to Go
Rock n Roll Juggernaut
Evil in a League with Satan
Beef Bologna
We're the Meatmen and You Suck
Glad I'm not a Girl

at this point there were a few more listed on the setlist but I don't think they played anymore but this is what else was listed

I Club Baby Seals
True Grit
Hot Rockin'
Middle Aged Youth
Satan is Real

Overall awesome show besides the bullshit delay getting in

Yeah, there were a few times that place has left a bad taste in my mouth for whatever reason. I have only been there a few times.

I miss the Foothill. Better vibe, better people, better sound, better layout.
