This day in music history.....

I figure I'd make a thread to be used by anybody who finds something interesting that happened this day (or whatever day it is your reading this) in music (doesn't have to be metal). Could be something that happened last year or a hundred years ago, doesn't matter.

I'll get things started off. Today (July 24th), Gary Cherone was born, Eye Of The Tiger reached #1 on the Billboard charts in the US, Pantera released Cowboys From Hell, and Winger released In The Heart Of The Young. Feel free to add on to mine if you find something else that happened on this day.

This day holds two pieces of Metallica history. First being it was the kickoff of their very first tour, Kill 'Em All For One, and Ride The Lightning was released today as well. That same day and year RTL was released (1984), Pantera's Projects In The Jungle was released, and Quiet Riot's Condition Critical was released. Highway To Hell was released in 1979 as well.

I was just talking about that tour the other day with Scott (OraclesofAgony). My dad was at the Reseda show!

I've overlooked Projects for quite some time, but wheN I finally got a physical copy of it i realized it is SUCH a good album. Not Power Metal or IATN quality, but still a quality record.

I have never given the full album a listen, guess that needs to change.
