Before the show I had a meet n greet with AiC. They were are all friendly guys, especially Mike Inez. I talked to him about his time in Ozzy's band. He told me he was good friends with Zakk Wylde. He liked my Down shirt & said he was friends with them too. I told him Down & AiC would be a great tour for USA fans.

Mastodon was good but not as good as the other 3 times I have seen them. Its suprising to me how the older material is better received than the CTS songs were considering how overhyped CTS is.

Deftones were awesome. As a fan of all 3 bands who likes Deftones the least of the bands- they were awesome. Chino was very animated on stage & full of energy. Best band of the night.

Alice in Chains were good as usual. They are always a solid live act and a good time. This show was no different. This setlist wasn't as good as the last one when I saw them (March 2010 Nashville, TN). The stage set up was much better this time around.

3 unique bands made for one great concert. The bands all sound different but are at the top of the respective genres in the world of metal. Not as many people attended as I thought there might have been. Regardless, this was one terrific concert that I highly recommend!!!

If by overhyped, you mean their second best album and one of the best albums of the last decade, sure.

In all reality, I like CTS. It is a very good album. One of their best.

No way is it better than Blood Mountain or Leviathan.

I think musically it is good, but I miss the more aggresive vocals and guitar playing. I think CTS is slightly too polished sounding for what I like from Mastodon.

Eh....Mastodon doesn't have a bad album, so to criticize any of their work is nitpicky for me, but I don't think Blood Mountain is quite as consistent as Leviathan or CTS. I do think the fact that they've played it in full for so long has gotten people and probably the band itself a little tired of it, but that doesn't really take anything away from it for me.

Im gonna have to draw a line in the sand here. I feel that the two best albums that Mastodon has produced would be Blood Mountain and CTS. Crack the Skye, though it only has 7 songs is amazing and will be very hard to top. Blood Mountain is the album that got me started listening to Mastodon. First time i saw them live was at Mayhem 2008. They absolutely killed it. I was at the this STL show and i feel like all 3 bands kicked ass. Mastodon got the crowd going, Deftones brough so much energy, and AIC (enough said.)
