Very depressing news - one of my all time favorites. Will have to play a lot of GM tonight starting with "The Loner" and "Parisienne Walkways."

RIP Gary

Never heard of him. And if he didn't play on the song Emerald, then I've never heard his work. Sounds like an impressive guy though. R.I.P.

That's a shame. Weird coincidence in that I just bought Black Rose on Saturday morning.

Nice, my favorite Thin Lizzy album.

Cause of death was apparently choking on his own vomit, the same thing that happened to Bon Scott.

And Jimi Hendrix

This news really didn't hit me until after the Super Bowl was over and I came home to read it. He was such a fantastic guitarist, and he will be missed dearly.

This was always one of my favorite covers. His biggest hit was a typical 80's ballad called Always Gonna Love You but I loved his live album We Want Moore and those versions of Victims of the Future, End of the World, Murder in the Skies & this:

Plus I really respected the fact the ballad wasn't on the live cd. I saw him open for Rush and maybe Triumph too. He was great live.
