Beavis and Butt-head are Back!

MTV’s snickering animated duo, Beavis and Butt-head, will return to the cable network with 30 new episodes, reports The New York Post. This week, MTV sources confirmed the news that creator Mike Judge has returned to helm the controversial show that he introduced in 1993 and worked on until its cancellation in 1997.

Judge, who also wrote the cult classic movie Office Space and the King of the Hill television series, is “not commenting at this time,” according to his publicist.

By reprising Beavis and Butt-head, MTV will also be making a return to airing music videos — once their bread-and-butter but now seldom on the table at all.

The show’s plotline will consist of the same two hard-rock-loving teenagers (both voiced by Judge) who work at a fast food restaurant, laugh maniacally, and do a whole lot of sitting on their couch, from which they deliver their commentary about music videos.

I heard about this a few months ago. I'm guessing MTV's rating's are in the crapper right now and they're trying to bring back the last show that was a huge success for them. I don't think it'll work because I just don't see why anybody should care about it this time around.

The original Beavis & Butthead was on while I was in high school so it was amusing then, but now? I just don't see how they're gonna make it work again.

I use to watch B&B all the time on MTV back in 93'-96'. I loved that shit, but I think they should just let that series lay to rest. It was an important part of MTV back in the 90s like so many other shows. I think it's kind of lame that they're reprising the show after how long that's been off the air?...like 14 years I think?

I highly doubt the network that has the jersey shore is has bad ratings.

That was fucked up when they brought back Ren & Stimpy. Seeing Ren & Stimpy have gay sex pretty much ruined the entire series for me.

While I do love Beavis & Butthead, the main problem I have with this is: what music would they like today? Anyone know what Mike Judge likes in today's music?

Yeah, I'm not down with this... I think they should just let it be a fond, blurry memory. Although it would be fun to see what they'd say while watching Asking Alexandria or something.

I think they'll have the same taste in music they did back then. Hopefully Gwar is still thier favorite band.
