Times of Grace -- Baltimore, MD -- February 1st, 2011

From setlist.fm

http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/times-...-33d2c4dd.html

Strength in Numbers
Hope Remains
Fight for Life
Until the End of Days
In the Arms of Mercy
Live in Love
Worlds Apart
The End of Eternity
Hymn of a Broken Man
Where the Spirit Leads Me

I guess this is good news for fans of their album, but...

I wasn't there at all but seriously,
You have 3/4 of the old KSE, an you don't break out any old tunes us old fans have been waiting years to hear? This pretty much guarantees me skipping this tour.

It might be 3/4 of the old KSE, but it's not KSE.

I'm actually pretty glad they aren't doing any KSE songs. If they have the same mindset I do, they don't want to play a show to fans only wanting to hear My Last Sernade and not care about the album they made.

True, but that set is only 40-45 minutes. For a headlining tour, that's just too damn short. To not throw in at least a couple AOJB songs is pretty disheartening. It doesn't have to be the big ones like My Last Serenade... just something...

The problem is doing a headlining tour in the first place. At least with just one album jump on a support tour or something.

at the atlanta show where i went somebdoy yelled "Alive or Just breathing" and Jesse yelled backed "10 years ago." i don't think he has any intention of playing KsE songs ever as Times of Grace. he sees it as a total different band

- Guy starts a metalcore band that is semi-decent
- Guy leaves band
- Band then becomes a joke of their former self and becomes everything that is wrong in the world of extreme metal
- Guy decides to start a new band
- Fans see band but want to hear old band songs
- Guy doesn't play old band songs
- Fans get angry

c'mon

And that's how I look at it too.

It's like asking Mike Portnoy to cover Dream Theater in his next band(s), or having Seventh Void cover Type O Negative. It's not the same band.

Hmm. Not quite. Adam D is the main creative force behind KsE; the only other influential member is what vocalist they have. Consequently, switching vocalists totally shifted the band's sound, dynamic, and musical structure. Adam D + Howard = the new KsE, and Adam D + Jesse = Old KsE, whether you like it or not. Take their eponymous first album: those songs just aren't played any more. It was pretty much a completely different band at the time, mostly due to the creative dynamics of Jesse.

The fact that Jesse is too arrogant or unwilling to recognize the fact that that dynamic exists is just plain sad in my mind. Jesse and Adam are old KsE, they can name themselves whatever they want and write new songs but it still doesn't change that fact. Due to what to me is just selfishness masked by decent intentions, they've turned away from their original fans, throwing a giant directly at us. I can understand where they're coming from, but not even throwing in 1 measly old song in our direction is a disservice not just to us, but to the great and influential metalcore gems that they crafted so many years ago. That was a different band from the KsE we know now. You gotta realize that, because most of your old fans do. And we would very much like to see the old, much better KsE back in action in some spiritual successor of some sort.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that feels this way.
