Tell you the truth except for ASOP I don't hear a huge difference in old in flames and new in flames. The screaming is less harsh in new in flames.

Do you listen to the lyrics or notice the song structure. Don't get me wrong i like reroute, soundtrack, and about 5 songs total off the last two albums, but the difference imo is pretty damn noticeable. Dumbed down basically in every respect.

A sense of Purpose and Come Clarity are very hit or miss for me, and are mostly "meh", but I really like Soundtrack to Your Escape. I know i'm one of 5 people who will admit that on the internet (which I always found odd. Online STYE gets trashed to no end, yet "The Quiet Place" probably gets one of the best crowd reactions at live shows).

And now that Dark Tranquillity has been brought into the discussion, I think Fiction and Character are their best albums. Fiction especially.

thats how it seemed with a lot of the newer songs when i saw In Flames. guess we dont have enough fans of new in flames material on this website to drown out the bitching that the older in flames fans do

I dont get why people stop liking bands at a certain point. Most of the bands I have listend to I have heard every album they made and probably dislike one or two albums from each band. and even the bad albums have some good songs.

bands change styles and you just dont like their new direction? lol look at Metallica. i mean yeah new In flames has some decent song as did metallica. but their styles changed from what was once popular and a lot of people dont like their new sound overall. pretty simple concept imo.
