It's well known in certain circles that Bruce Dickinson is quite possibly the biggest asshole in the history of music. I can't say from my experience whether Bruce is an ass or not, because I never met him, but Paul is definitely not. Whatever he says on stage is not meant to be taken seriously anyway. He just jokes around.

I happen to think Bruce Dickinson is simply one of the most opinionated and blunt people in the music industry. He's made it and can do whatever he wants to and say whatever he wants to say. He doesn't need to take any shit from anyone. I honestly LOVE that he's completely unafraid to rant. I think more people need that amount of balls.

...this is entirely based on interviews and what I've seen of them live. I've never met the guy. Maybe he's a prick. I don't really care.

I have two friends who have met Bruce, and apparently he is genuinely just a normal guy. There is no animosity about him, he talks to you like he would anyone else, jokes with you like he would anyone else and you'd wouldn't know he is Iron Maidens frontman if you met him normally. Apparently same goes for all the Maiden boys, much like Sabbath, they've never forgotten where they came from. I mean with Maiden especially, they all have that working class spirit, none of them likes to sit around and do nothing.
