These "glorified street fighters" happen to be some of the greatest athletes in the world, you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Not to mention if you've ever trained with any of the REAL athletes and not the poser douchebags they are very friendly and genuine people.

Not talking about them as people. I'm talking about the sport. If you say MMA is a sport, then two guys brawling in an alley is a sport. Only difference is that there's a guy to tell you when your opponent taps out.

What is a sport but organized physical competition? It's organized, it's physical, and it's competition. And if you ask me there really isn't a better sport out there. You don't have any team to hide behind and no one to blame but yourself if you win or lose. One man vs another to see who is better, how can you not love that?!

If seeing two guys bludgeon eachother in anyway they can makes you think it's the best sport, more power to you. I like a little more finesse in my "combat" sports. To me, there's a reason boxing is called "The Sweet Science."

So every MMA fight ends with someone maimed and seriously injured? Please... martial arts as a whole has the lowest injury rate of any other sport out there. If that's your argument than football is as inhumane as anything because God knows how many people have been seriously injured playing football. But it's very rare to see professional fights where the fighters are seriously hurt, its very regulated now and nothing like you make it out to be. And really, boxing is simply just an underutilization of physical potential, as it is only a part of the overall picture of mixed martial arts. To say boxing is okay but MMA isn't is almost ignorant.
