what was this show? they touring now?
god i'd pay a serious amount of $ to see a show that focused on the first two records. Marigold with Pat Smear & Krist is very very cool though. Apparently Krist plays bass on some songs on the new record.

This show was a one-off 'surprise' show as far as I know.
I'm looking forward to the new album. I want to hear the 'garage approach' they took in recording this time around with producer Butch Vig. I still need to catch them live someday.

saw them in '97 or '98 at roseland in support of the colour and the shape. one of the most dangerous crowds i've ever been in. my feet wouldnt touch the ground for a few seconds at a time many times throughout the night. great show. they only had the two records out so obv. their setlist was great, even though i don't remember it.

I'm not that big on "rock" bands anymore but yes something focusing on first 2 - 2.5 albums would not be to terrible. Love Grohl more as a drummer than as front man but I would prob see them but have to be heavy on first few albums. Probably not as likely.
This would be a great example of a great Foo set: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/foo-fi...-13d475d5.html
