Kamelot: North American Tour 2011

As part of the ongoing Kamelot campaign , we are announcing 2 shows as part of what will be a full US tour!
Aug 30 at the Grammercy Theater in New York City, NY – USA
Sept 2 at the Club Soda in Montreal, Québec – Canada

Promoters will offer a special VIP ticket for these show. This will include a pre show meet/greet and an autographed poster commemorating the show. Both shows go onsale today exclusively through www.Enterthevault.com till Jan 22 when they become available everywhere.

Unfortunately, we have been informed that, due to continuing medical and personal issues, Roy Khan will not be able to finish the remaining touring in support of Kamelot’s album, “Poetry for the Poisoned”.

However, we are pleased to announce that metal icon Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire) will be joining the tour and handling the lead vocal duties. There will also be guest vocal appearances throughout the tour by Simone Simons (Epica), Tommy Karevik (Seventh Wonder), and many more surprise guests throughout this very special and rare tour.

Fabio Lione is eager to get on the road, stating: “I am excited and pleased to be part of the next Kamelot tour. I always loved the sound of the band and I think this will be a great experience for me, the band and for all the fans of great music and Kamelot… see you soon on tour and let’s rock!!!”

Yesterday I had re-evaluated my decision not to see Kamelot in London in March, because they've just confirmed that special guests on the European leg will be Evergrey.

So I was going to go. But no Roy singing for Kamelot? What the fuck is the point? Better to cancel the tour and do it later in the year when he's able.

I believe they said he was burnt out from touring and his body needed a rest from the mental/physical stress. Something like that.

Yeah... Khan had a burnout, and it's said on the official forum that not only has the band not been able to contact him, but he's been taking "religious classes". :/ I have a really bad feeling about that...

I didn't understand why they canceled the last tour, either, since I was willing to go out and support them with Eriksen - but when I saw them at PPUSA it made more sense. They had a WEEK to rehearse with him, and while it was a good show, they did not have it completely together yet - he forgot almost the entire lyrics to Ghost Opera and fudged some other songs, too. ProgPower supported him because they knew who he was and are a forgiving audience in general - but if that had happened at any other show, people probably would've ripped into him, especially if you saw the extreme whininess happening on their Facebook. I think they're announcing this NOW so that they feel more comfortable playing when it comes time to...

Fabio makes no sense. If Tommy Karevik were doing the main vocals, or if they got Eriksen again or someone like Mathias Blad, I'd be there without much hesitation.

Fabio needs to tour his own band in America and not Kamelot. i dont mind Fabio but he does not fit Kamelot at all
