I think this verifies SOAD have returned. So far none of the Euro dates interfere with the Mayhem Fest dates.

Also in the Children of Bodom press release for their upcoming album it states they are on Universal Records now. This gives them much more leverage for landing on more mainstream tours like Mayhem or Ozzfest. Godsmack and Deftones are on Universal too and it is possible that all 3 bands could play on Mayhem Fest. Similar to the way Roadrunner Records has placed 2 bands on the tour every year.

On a year by year basis Roadrunner Records usually has 2 bands on the fest, Century Media has had 1, but this year I am not sure if Roadrunner has a band who they can justify putting on the main stage aside from Megadeth or Devildriver. Trivium has already played and if they play again I don't think their popularity/album sales warrant them on the mainstage. As for a CM band it is probably Arch Enemy this year.

Arch Enemy.. Their last tour here was earlier this year in January, before that it was..... 2007. I have low expectations they're gonna do this horrible tour.

Speaking of roadrunner I'd say theirs a good chance of Mutiny Within being on this tour.

Those dates can't be true. It's the EXACT same cities and amphitheatres on almost the exact same dates. In fact, the dates are only about 1 day apart from last year, and when you take into account the way the calendar changes and each date just shifts to the next day (or 2 days during leap years), that maybe those aren't the actual dates. A few dates are in a different order, but it's almost the same exact itinerary that maybe they just have a calendar setting on their website and haven't actually changed any of the dates...

Nice catch there. I thought this year's venues looked almost exactly the same as last year. You're right there's only a day difference between a number of these dates and the ones last year. I just think they're being lazy and booking the same places at the same time for next year. It's on the Mayhem page so i'm guessing the dates for next year are true.

Horrible tour or not it's a great opportunity for any band to be on this. A band like Arch Enemy who's made a OK name for themselves will make some decent money on this tour and get eposure to more fans than they ever would on their own. Why would you say "no" to that unless your schedule is already booked up at that time?
