Gruesome Twosome -- Bloomington, IL -- October 8th, 2010

I went and saw the gruesome twosome this Friday at the Coliseum in Bloomington Illinois and it was (for lack of a more sophisticated superlative) awesome!

The Murderdolls were the opener and were well received by the majority of the crowd, I was in the minority though lol.Alice was great and honestly challenged every show I've ever seen by any band ever for the top spot, he hit the stage with School's Out right into No More Mr. Nice Guy, the place was pumping after that intro. Than hit after hit, death after death, from top to bottom Alice was God like up there. 10 outta 10!

Rob Zombie was next and had the difficult task of following Alice, but he did well. I personally didn't enjoy him as much as Cooper but he was fun and his stage show kicks tons of ass. Lots of film/movie clips playing during the songs along with not stop flash pots and fire/flames everywhere. During Thunder Kiss 65 he came into the crowd and was literally 10 feet away from me, could have ran up to him with no problem. It was cool to see John 5 and Joey Jordison live as well, something I haven't done yet and they were solid and fun to watch.

Setlist for Alice:
School's Out
No More Mr. Nice Guy
Wicked Young Man
Ballad Of Dwight Fry
Go To Hell
Cold Ethyl
*injected with poison
From The Inside
Nurse Rozetta
Be My Lover
Only Women Bleed
I Never Cry
Black Widow
Vengeance Is Mine
Dirty Diamonds
Billion Dollar Babies
*Box of swords
I Love The Dead (Chuck Garric led the crowd on vocals here)
Feed My Frankenstein
Under My Wheels
I'm Eighteen
School's Out (Reprise)

* = Alice dying

Setlist for Rob (not sure if this is 100%):
Jesus Frankenstein
Scum Of The Earth
Living Dead Girl
More Human Than Human
Sick Bubble Gum
Demon Speeding
(Joey drum solo)
Pussy Liquor
Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy)
Thunder Kiss 65
(John 5 solo/ Rob walking in crowd)
Thunder Kiss 65 (reprise)
Werewolf Women Of The SS
House Of 1,000 Corpses
Ozzy/Slash 2-14

I was there too. I thought it was a great show as well. Alice's theatrics were out of this world. I remember seeing him on That Metal Show when he was the guest and he said that he died four times during this show. It was cool to see in person. I thought his bass player was a great singer (when he sang that one song towards the end). Zombie was sweet. This was my third time seeing him since last November. He never disappoints. I wish he would play some songs off of Educated Horses like Let it all Bleed Out, American Witch, or Lords of Salem. Joey must have been tired as hell playing two sets.
