American Carnage -- Duluth, GA -- October 1st, 2010

City: Duluth
State: Georgia
Venue: Gwinnett Arena
Date: October 1, 2010
Tour: American Carnage

I got to the venue around 12:30 and was the fist person in line. The number of people there was very insignificant until almost the time for the doors to open. It seemed like their weren’t people gonna show.

First up was Anthrax and I was directly in front of Scott Ian. They did an amazing job and actually played a song for the fist time on this tour. Joey and Scott did great and didn’t disappoint. Glad they took “Only” out of the set.

Setlist
Caught in a Mosh
Madhouse
Antisocial
Indians
A.I.R.
Metal Thrashing Mad
I Am the Law

Next up was Megadeth. This is my second time seeing Rust in Peace in its entirety and it was still great the second time. Dave was a little off vocal wise compared to last time but it was still a good show.

Setlist
Holy Wars...The Punishment Due
Hangar 18
Take No Prisoners
Five Magics
Poison Was the Cure
Lucretia
Tornado of Souls
Dawn Patrol
Rust in Peace...Polaris
Trust
Headcrusher
A Tout Le Monde
Symphony of Destruction
Peace Sells/Holy Wars Reprise

Finally the band I came to see. SLAYER!!! I finally got to see this band up close and in your face. I was happy so see the entire Seasons album live and Aggressive Perfector was a great touch. They were just as awesome as I expected and I hope to see them many more times.

Setlist
World Painted Blood
Hate Worldwide
War Ensemble
Blood Red
Spirit in Black
Expendable Youth
Dead Skin Mask
Hallowed Point
Skeletons of Society
Temptation
Born of Fire
Seasons in the Abyss
South of Heaven
Raining Blood
Aggressive Perfector
Angel of Death

Great show overall and no disappointing moments. Got a pick from Scott and Kerry.

Rating
Anthrax 8.5/10
Megadeth 9/10
Slayer 9.7/10

so little news out of the anthrax camp...they'd be smart to try and build some buzz about joey being back by announcing more shows, getting the album done...something!

i'd rather them add AIR in place of Antisocial and keep Only. curious to hear Joey sing it.

A.I.R. is a definite upgrade over Only. Not prejudice over Bush. Never ever liked Only. Welcome change.

It's funny how 1 song can transform a set from ok to epic. A.I.R. does that for me. I agree would rather have it in place of Antifuckingsocial but I won't complain. We beter get A.I.R. in Baltimore
