So people still consider AIC grunge? They're a metal band if i've ever heard one. Their riffs are very Sabbath like so how is that grunge and not metal?

Not that I disagree that "grunge" is clearly a totally fabricated genre... but AIC's riffs are absolutely not Sabbath-like.

Here's a hint: Their name starts with a R and ends with an ush.

But they're not really a metal band.

I agree with a bunch of turtles lists already. But one change I would make is....

New Thrash Metal
Municipal Waste
Evile
Vektor
Warbringer

Toxic Holocaust and Skeletonwitch (one of my favorite bands) are great but I wouldn't call them Retro Thrash.

Norwegian Black Metal
Immortal
Burzum
Emperor
Mayhem

Neither is King's X. I think he was intentionally leaving it open-ended... including both Progressive Rock and Metal.

I like this idea, I will be posting some later on.

How can you have a grunge list without Nirvana? I understand this is one of those "your list" things but c'mon. I know they get a lot of hate but they are hands down one of the big 4 of grunge.
