Need MOAR Shoegaze!

While very new to the subgenre of shoegaze, I keep falling in love with every band I run across that is classified as such. On Sunday I had the pleasure of accidentally seeing KYOTY (Keep Your Opinions to Yourself), a New Hampshire based band. I was entranced on the spot.

Anyway, does anyone have any good recommendations? I literally only know 3 bands and need more shoegaze food to nom on.

My Blood Valentine and Slowdive are the founders, so get into them if you're not. Most of the other shoegazey stuff I get into is more metalgaze, like Jesu and most Isis worshipers.

I'm not counting Isis at all. By the little shoegaze I know, I wouldn't have put them into the same category. For curiosities sake, though, how is metalgaze definitively different?

Shoegaze isn't really sonically heavy in my opinion; stuff like Jesu and Alcest still shares elements with metal.

The December Sound - Silver Album - (Loveless Part 2)
A Place to Bury Strangers - Exploding Head - (like a mix of MBV Joy Division and Sonic Youth)
Astrobrite - Crush - (More unknown and very underrated, should be rated one of the best shoegaze bands from the last decade)
Medicine - The Buried Life - (overlooked gem from the Loveless era)
Have a Nice Life - Deathconciousness - (Not entierly shoegaze but a good mix of it with post-rock, drone and post-punk. It's more depressing but very heavy at times and one of the greatest "grower" albums of the last decade, masterpiece album)

Check those out and if you like them I'll give you more if you want.

my bloody valentine were terrible when i saw them play with tool. i was able to get thousands of people to consecutively flip them off. one of the prouder moments of my life
