Pretty good list I would add:

Possessed - Seven Churches
Extol - Undeceived
Gojira - From Mars To Sirius
Dying Fetus - Destroy the Opposition
Benediction - Transcend the Rubicon
Deeds of Flesh - Mark of the Legion
Demigod - Slumber of Sullen Eyes
God Dethroned - Bloody Blasphemy
Origin - Informis Infinitas Inhumanitas
Augury - Concealed
Baphomet - The Dead Shall Inherit
Cadaver - ...in Pains

Yeah, considering they virtually invented death metal, that's a pretty glaring omission.

I'd create my take on an "Essential Progressive and Power Metal" albums list, but I don't think many people here would be interested in it.

I would be. At least with that I know I would've heard an OK amount of the albums on it. As opposed to only having heard like 3 albums on the list the OP put on here

too bad Heartwork is the only Carcass album that i really like. i tried out the other albums, but i'm not really a death/grind guy, but i'm big on melodeath, so that explains why i like Heartwork a lot.
