You know that term ignorant people use to describe some metal no matter what genre or sub genre, you know " it all sounds like a bunch of noise" . That's what despised icon is for me.

The albums aren't that stereotypical deathcore sound (Chelsea Grin) but they do have their share of -core elements, whether it be vocal style, breakdowns, or general songwriting. I'd have to say out of my list The Red Chord is probably the furthest from the genre, but they still have the -core vocals and some breakdowns, which is why a lot of people associate them with those bands.

Every time you guys start arguing about metalcore, deathcore, melo-death, etc etc etc my brain freezes and I get a "what is this i dont even" look on my face.
