Most influental Metal albums...
Right now I am working on a Spotifyplaylist containing the most influental metalalbums of all time. I would like to get to maybe fifty albums and hope would like to help with suggestions on what I am missing.
The list right now is: Iron Maiden - TNOTB Judas Priest - British Steel Black Sabbath - Paranoid At The Gates - Slaughter of the Soul Slayer - Reign in Blood Deep Purple - Machine Head Dio - Holy Diver Sepultura - Chaos A.D. Faith No More - Angel Dust Slipknot - S/t Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral Black Sabbath - Heaven & Hell Ozzy - Blizzard of Ozz Megadeth - Rust in Peace Opeth - Blackwater Park Dissection - Storm of the Lightīs Bane Morbid Angel - Covenant Napalm Death - Scum Kiss - Destroyer Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power Darkthrone - Transilvanian Hunger Mastodon - Leviathan Rush - Moving Pictures Alice in Chains - Dirt So there should be twenty-six more albums on that list. And if you donīt use spotify. There are some artists whose music arnīt available. For instance Metallica, AC/DC and Tool would have had albums on the playlist if they were available.

I would also have Reinventing The Steel by Pantera on there. That was the epitome of their progression to heavy, southern metal and I think the vocal performance and riffs you hear on TGSTK and RTS (more so RTS) influenced a lot of metal you hear today.

Bathory - any of the first four Death - Scream Bloody Gore or Leprosy, or Symbolic maybe? Cynic - Focus Venom - Black Metal Suffocation - Effigy of the Forgotten Carcass - most likely Heartwork, but Reek of Putrefaction or Symphonies of Sickness In Flames - The Jester Race Dark Tranquillity - The Gallery Cannibal Corpse - Tomb of the Mutilated thats all i can think of for now.

Good call on putting Angel Dust from FNM on the list. It influenced the nu-metal sound of the late 90s and 2000s. The album was way ahead of it's time. Unfortunately it inspired garbage like Korn. But they also influenced some decent bands like Slipknot and SOAD. I'm not sure how Slipknot's first album makes the list though as you're still missing A LOT of albums that meant more to metal than that one ever will.
Here's a few more to add: Metallica - Master Of Puppets (honestly how did you forget this )Anthrax- Among The Living Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath, Master Of Reality, Volume 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage. Yes, all those Sabbath albums are that important

Indeed, I'd say anything younger than 5 years is pushing it...
