Iron Maiden -- Winnipeg, Manitoba -- June 30th, 2010
Usual set list, it seems.
1. Wickerman 2. Ghost of the Navigator 3. Wrathchild 4. El Dorado 5. Dance of Death 6. Benji Breeg 7. These Colours Don't Run 8. Blood Brothers 9. Wildest Dreams 10. No More Lies 11. Brave New World 12. Fear of the Dark 13. Iron Maiden 14. Number of the Beast 15. Hallowed Be Thy Name 16. Running Free (I thought Breeg came later in the set, but I'm deferring to previous set lists on this one, as I'm going from memory) Dance of Death and No More Lies are my two favourites from DOD, so I was thrilled. When they rolled out the Brave New World banner after No More Lies, I was hoping for Dream of Mirrors...too much to hope for though. The crowd was into this set more than I expected. Being so heavy into the last 4 albums, I thought it would receive a cooler reception, but I'm happy my city is filled with enough hard core Maiden fans. Also on a positive note, a buddy was there to see them for his 7th time but the first time since 1991, when they last played Winnipeg (No Prayer for a Tour). |

According to setlist.fm Dance of Death is here to stay. I'm rather upset that I'm not getting one of the handful of songs from DoD that I actually like

I think we (those of us in North America, that is) should all be glad we're getting ANY Dance of Death material. I'm pretty sure we won't get it again. If we do, I can't imagine it'll be more than one song, and I fear that song will be Wildest Dreams. If we're really lucky, it'll be Dance of Death.

I was there. Great show. I thought the time i saw them in 2008 was better though. The 2008 show had a better setlist. Also, there was no pyro this time. It was kind of a let down but they still rocked the shit out of the place so Im happy.

Sounds like the Canadian crowds don't mind the new stuff as much as some of the American ones did. I haven't heard any complaints abou the songs they did play.. I know Vancouver was very lively! Obviously a bit of unfamiliarity with a lot of people, but that's expected. I hope that they bring back the pyro and stuff for the fall (?) tour!
Side note: I was watching Flight 666 today and I'm pretty sure I spotted Andrew(_metalhead) in the crowd at the LA show!

Haha, thank you. That's what I was thinking. I thought overrated things had to be popular in the first place.
