Iron Maiden -- Auburn, WA -- June 22nd, 2010

Let me say that this venue (White River Ampitheater) is horribly, horribly planned out. There is one, two-lane highway going to it, so traffic was a nightmare. We thought we were leaving in plenty of time, but we ended up completely missing Dream Theater. I went to the merch table first, which was also a clusterfuck. When did they start accepting credit cards? It pissed me off, because it made everything take twice as long, especially when the guy in front of you buys two things with two separate credit card purchases I ended up getting the shirt with the FF art on the front and tour dates on the back. Anyways, our seats were in the 200 area, but it was still a great view.

Set was same as always. We got Paschendale

Highlights of the show for me were Ghost of the Navigator, Paschendale, El Dorado (sounds great with H and Steve on backing vocals in the chorus), Blood Brothers, and Ben Breeg. The crowd was pretty lethargic during the newer material as I expected; there were few people who started sitting down towards the end, and they didn't get back into it until Fear of the Dark. It took me almost the entire show to figure out what Steve's "Whale Oil Beef Hooked" shirt was all about (hint: say it out loud fast in a cockney accent), but when I "got it," I

In all, I'm not sure how I'd rank it compared to the first time I saw them, but seeing the newer songs was really amazing, especially Paschendale. The band gets a 9/10, crowd gets a 6/10.

Nice review. It seems a lot of people are complaining about the set up to get in and out of these shows. My biggest question about this is, have you guys ever been to an amphitheater show? The parking is alway shit at these places, you usually gotta walk a decent distance to get to the entrance and getting out is always a pain in the ass.

Anyways, it seems like I should leave extra early for my show next month since there seems to be more issues than usual with getting in and out on this tour.

So do you think they all have multiple copies of the same shirt, or do they wash clothes every night?
It seems like every tour they wear the same things every night. I was actually impressed that the only one wearing a Maiden shirt when I saw them was Janick.

The only way any band probably washes clothes on a tour is if the venue they're playing at has a washer/dryer there or if the hotels they're staying at have them. It's also possible they have multiple pairs of the same shirts/pants as well. If worse comes to worse and they don't get a chance to wash them they probably just spray them down with some febreeze or something
