But I honestly don't get why the song gets so much hate around here. I love it.

I consider NOTHING by Maiden to be glam in the least amount! Sure, a few songs have a bit of a "poppy" feel to them, but most certainly not glam. When I think of glam, I think of nothing, 80's shit bands such as: LA Guns, Ratt, Winger, Firehouse, Trixter, Twisted Sister, and Slaughter. EVERY song by Maiden COMPLETELY DESTROYS EVERYTHING all of those bands have done.

Was going to say the same thing. I've never been able to get past my disliking of Stephen Pearcy, but Warren De Martini is a really great guitarist and they are a band with way more integrity than most give them credit for. Also, from what I heard, their new album is actually good and in the vein of their classic work.

In all my years of listening to metal i've never heard of this song being considred "glam rock". I'm not sure where you're getting that from at all? The song isn't as great as the rest of the album but I still like it.

This song was written to be a single, plain and simple. Just like Maiden did previously with RTTH, FOI, 2MTM and WY. So were they trying to be glam rock there as well since they wrote those songs to be singles? Or were they just following a patteren they had in the 80s? I believe it's the latter.

Under the Blade holds it's own, but you're otherwise right.
