Bon Jovi -- East Rutherford, NJ -- May 26th, 27th, 29th 2010
So since no one else posted this yet, i figured i would... Yeah, it's not really what most of you were waiting for...
but hey, a friend called and said he had an extra ticket for me,... for free so I said....Sure there's beer right? ($10 draught beer, $8 plastic bottles) CAN'T WAIT but hey, i've seen the new giants stadium from the inside. The first thing i noticed is that it's just as much a pain in the ass to get inside as before!! escalator up, walk around the concourse, finally to my section,...what's this... a BAR? yes a big 25 foot long rectangle bar with draught beer stations. only thing is, you can't see the field from there. its 2 steps down from the last row, so as to not have fans over congregating and clogging the aisles down to the seats. unlike the new yankee and mets stadiums where you CAN walk around and see the field. At new Giants stadium you can NOT. you must go to your seat. BUT when you are there, you can see the entire floor unobstructed. i think they raised the angle of the bowl a little so everyones eyesight goes directly over the person in front of them. There are HUGE and i mean 4 HUGE, color LED screens in each corner, each is the size of an endzone, they are massive, not Dallas Cowboy massive, but pretty dang big. anyway it rained early in the evening and the concert was delayed due to lightning. Bon Jovi finally got going about 9:15 and finished 11:35ish. I went the second night, which for me seems the best setlist of the 3, since they do rotating song spots ala Metallica (you never quite know what you gonna get). Now Bon Jovi isn't really hair metal anymore (if they ever were), but I do like a few of the older records, I don't know their new material. The only other time I saw Bon Jovi was back in Jan '89 with Tesla opening, me and my college roomate were the only people rocking to Tesla. So I was curious to see the modern Jovi show. There's no doubt... Jon's still a star, he commands a stadium, he still sings great and puts on a good show for the ladies... WHOA the ladies... all ages, all sizes, all colors. From pre-pubescent teenie boppers to botox milf mamma's, they were all there. Anyway enough of my rambling... here's the set lists for the curious. Gotta be honest, they definitely give you your money's worth - even if it's a retardedly over-priced amount of money to begin with.
Really cool to see songs like In These Arms, Blood on Blood, Something For the Pain, Born to Be My Baby, Just Older, and Dry County in there though. Maybe if they ever decide to play These Days tracks like Something To Believe In, Hey God, and the title track, I'd think about paying the money to go see them. Otherwise, no way. Not on my budget. Still, my hat is off. |

Not going to lie, I'd like to see them at least once. That being said, I don't want to see them so bad that I would dish out that much money.

Even though it was a solo song, Blaze Of Glory would be SWEET to see live.

I actually think the set list sucks. They said they were going to do older stuff this tour. I thought they were talking about stuff from the first two albums, not New Jersey old. For that much money I'll pass.
