Valient Thorr were up first. I don't know anything that they played for sure except "Mask of Sanity," "Double Crossed," and "Tomorrow Police." They dedicated "Tomorrow Police" to Dio - "a man who lived for rock n' roll, which is how you'd ought to live" - which was nice.

Baroness were up next, and played arguably the best set of the night. I was psyched to get The Gnashing instead of War, Wisdom, & Rhyme, but I still would have liked more from Red Album and maybe even something off the EPs.

Between the Buried and Me really got the crowd going for the first time of the night. Their setlist was kinda weak and the sound was bad but it's BTBAM and they never disappoint. Fifth time seeing them and I guarantee a sixth.

Mastodon basically dominated. Brann, Troy, and Bill are a well-oiled unit, nay, an unstoppable unit. Brent...was okay. He left the stage after every Crack the Skye song and was yelling at one point, and he was fine throughout the encore set until Blood and Thunder at which point he left the stage, but still played the song from wherever he was. So, his routine didn't affect the performances or the music - he sounded great on guitar and vocals. I just hate what a diva he's become, and I really do hope he gets fired and John Dyer Baizley pulls double duty. He absolutely DOMINATES the stage with Baroness. We'll see what happens from here, this was the last night of the tour. Now prepare to be jealous because we got some shit that I don't think any other cities got:

Nah, not excessively so. Lots of movement and squeezing and jostling for position, but no violence.

It's a tough call both are great but after many listens and seeing the songs live, Red is still a bit better than Blue imho.

I think you guys got a nice Mastodon set even without Ol Nessie.
Seriously, Crusher Destroyer, I am Ahab, Iron Tusk and March of the Fire Ants does not a bad set make.
