Well, the whole movie is really tense and weird and slow and has a really jarring soundtrack and there's really nothing that "jumps out" even though I hate to use the term. Then after all this weird, atmospheric stuff, she goes in and sees that shit. Matt Serey and I pissed our pants.
Lynch is the master of finding the balance between creepy and scary though. All of his (canon) movies are great but they also make me feel really uncomfortable and unclean for the rest of the day.
