I've heard mixed things about River of Rapture, how'd you like it?

Better than most of the new Nevermore. Wasn't impressed with any of that except 'The Obsidian Conspiracy'. The others are severely lacking in riffs. Apparently Death Angel's album is finished, currently being mixed, and will be out around September. Mark said they're going to "tour relentlessly" for it. Warrel said there'll be a full Obsidian Conspiracy World Tour starting in the Autumn.

I think the new Nevermore is very good. The title track is the best of what they selected to play off it so far. The songs "Moonrise", "And The Maiden Spoke" and "Without Morals" would be better to play if they really wanna get people intrested in the new album though. I was expecting them to play at least 2 or 3 more songs as a headliner. But the tour just started, so once it gets rolling that will probably change.

The ones they played were just... boring. No sharp riffs, short and really quite formulaic solos, very little complexity. Not really very Nevermore-like songs at all. They had no "edge" whatsoever. Everyone sang along to 'Emptiness Unobstructed', especially the second time, but really no one seemed that interested.
That's always the danger when you tour an album that isn't out yet, of course. I don't see them adding any more songs until the proper tour later in the year. Warrel wasn't really down with most of the lyrics, so I don't expect they've even rehearsed any of the others.

That makes it sound like they played it twice.

They were shooting the video for it and Warrel fucked up the lyrics. Ironically, he fucked them up worse the second time. I'm not expecting much from the video. They were using high-end Canon DSLRs in video mode instead of real video cameras.

And it appearing twice in the setlist doesn't? That wasn't a mistake

'And The Maiden Spoke' off the new one is complex muscially. It's the best song on the new Nevermore album I think. The might have a hard time pulling it off live though.
