I like a lot of bands that aren't metal, but I think the only one that might be considered shameful is The Birthday Massacre.

Oh, and Muse is one of my favorite bands too, and I find them hard to categorize. They have their poppy songs, and they have their rock songs. Not progressive though. I do think that if you don't like a band because of their fans, you should give it an honest listen anyway.

Muse's live show is definitely one of the best I've ever seen, too.
