If a kid grows up with something like Korn, it's going to take awhile for them to understand any band that is musically based with fast guitars and double bass kicks.

Korn, Slipknot, Disturbed, and Mudvayne pretty much got me into metal. I still listen to all of those bands every once in a while, but now I'm much more into heavier, better stuff.

Same here. Except, I dunno about heavier. I would say L.D. 50 is a heavier album than at least half of the music I listen to nowadays.

Yes - if you don't want to smoke, vote, or buy porn - turning 18 isn't really that big of a deal. The only thing that I even did within 3 months of turning 18 was that I went to see Symphony X at an 18+ show. Also, my band could play at a few new places because some bars want all performers to be 18+. That's pretty much all that turning 21 is about to me too - finally having no restrictions on shows.

I especially didn't give a fuck about 21. That's completely meaningless here in terms of laws and stuff. Smoking, drinking and voting are all 18. Driving is 17.

The only things you have to wait for 21 here are things most people don't want to do any younger anyway, like become the license holder of a pub, adopt a child, or drive a heavy goods vehicle.

About the only cool thing at 21 is being able to ride motorcycles with larger engines.
