Confused to whether a breakdown is legitimate or scene kid fanservice?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbfDPkyt5ws @ 1:58
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJJrIQsCTcQ @ 0:43 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7j-6Bbu23Aw @ 0:53 And the worst offenders: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2JX9VeL7n4 @ 1:50 I've yet to hear a band to use the almost electronic-type "BOOOOOOOOOOM" at the beginning of a breakdown that wasn't just a scene kid band. Protip: it doesn't make breakdowns more brutal, it's just an easy way to know when you're listening to a shit band.

And I'd say Emmure is the worst offender. |

Oh but the question in the title. I think it's only legitimate when it's done right (all shall perish). When bad bands, especially the first three videos you posted, do it...it's just scene kid shit.

I'm just focusing on the stupid electronic BOOM thing at the beginning of so many breakdowns.

The only Deathcore band I can tolerate is Winds Of plague.

i love that song by As Blood Runs Black, but that breakdown sorta kills it for me.
and that has to be the worst Suicide Silence song by the way, coming from a fan of them. not a fan of the other two, although Winds of Plague was good when i saw them.

Fucking christ that stuff was terrible. I am so happy I basically have absolutely NO exposure to this type of "music". I don't think there were any notes in that Suicide Silence track, just noise.
