Since when does moshing and violence only happen at LOG etc shows...? I've seen broken noses at almost every show I've gone to.

Yeah, but from what I hear, you cause half of them, so I think that kinda skews the numbers a little...

I never said that this stuff only happens at LOG shows. But they're known pretty well for having some of the more violent and active crowds right now. If you've seen broken noses at almost every show then there's something wrong with the way the fans are moshing. They're not doing it right, you're supposed to have fun with it and get a little violent, but you also have to protect the other people from damage like that. I've seen injuries at shows before but most of them nothing major like that happens. I know accidents can happen in the pit but you're supposed to ram into people's bodies and avoid any kind of head contact. At least that's the way i've always understood it to be.

To TonyD: yes, moshing is fun and when I was a teenager in the mid 90s I would've thought nothing about going into one if I so desired. But now as a 31year old adult with things like showing up for work and family to take care of, I think better of getting in the pit. After all, if I go in the pit now I can blow out a knee or something

If I'm ever in a touring group, I hope the majority of my venues will be theaters. 'Cause in all honesty, aside from the fagcore kids and fagcore music, moshing is what bugs me the most about metal shows. Call me a pussy or whatever you may wish, but I prefer to spend my money on watching artists perform their pieces and just enjoying the music over running in circles and/or getting manhandled by drunks. But that's just me.

Hah - maybe, maybe. But it is what it is and, foolish as it might be, I have respect for someone who gets hurt and keeps on moshing.

Honestly, if I go to a show and there isn't a decent pit, I'm a little disappointed. There's something about earning your place by standing up to it (or, in my case, get crushed against the rail and staying there) that makes a show that much better. Plus a decent pit automatically brings great crowd energy. I get bored and feel really awkward if the crowd isn't going crazy.
