Grand Funk Railroad -- Las Vegas, NV -- March 20th, 2010

Entertainment Pavilion
Silverton Casino Lodge
Las Vegas, Nevada USA

I have been a GFR fan for many years but this was the first time i have seen them live since original guitarist & singer Mark Farner left the band. Lead vocals are now handled by Max Carl (ex-38 Special), and lead guitar now by Bruce Kulick (ex-KISS) . This band now rocks hard than the original GFR, with the addition of Bruce.

Bottle Rocket
Rock 'N Roll Soul
Footstompin' Music
Shinin' On
The Loco-Motion
Walk Like A Man
Sky High
Second Chance
*drum thing*

This reminds me of the Simpsons episode w/ Peter Frampton, Cypress Hill, and Smashing Pumpkins. Homer is dropping the kids off at school, and as they're running like hell away from the car, Homer yells, "If you'd like to learn more about Grand Funk, visit your local library!" Also, the station he was listening to was WFSL "The Fossil," playing all the hits from Abba to Zeppelin! Too funny!

Actuall, classic rock is my favorite genre by far, but I never got into Grand Funk Railroad.

"You kids don't know Grand Funk? The wild shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The competent drumwork of Don Brewer? Oh, man!"

Not to mention 1 of the coolest album covers ever made E Pluribus Funk. I was really into their older stuff but the Some Kind of Wonderful/Loco-Motion/American band stuff kinda lost me. I'm Your Captain/Closer to Home is one of the best songs ever penned IMO.
