Breakdowns that you actually LIKE

With all of the deathcore hate going on, it led me to wonder: what are some breakdowns that you guys actually enjoy? It can be from any genre.

Personally, I find that the breakdown in Nile's "Utterances of the Crawling Dead" manages to crush me like a fucking tank every time I hear it. I wish they would play this song live

None.

I'm sure there are songs that I enjoy that have breakdowns, but they're the kind of breakdown that's good and helps the music because it doesn't stand out and take a commanding lead over everything else.

Also: winds of plague

Proper thrash breakdowns shouldn't count for this thread They aren't really breakdowns either more like a switch to mid-paced easily-headbangable rhythm, not the big lurching breakdowns of deathcore and the example I mentioned.

It sucks that breakdowns are seen as a completely bad thing nowadays. If it's creative and done tastefully, a good breakdown is awesome. It's those shitty, single note, overused metal/deathcore breakdowns that are used just for the sake of hardcore dancing that suck ass.

Another one I enjoy is in Immolation's "Higher Coward". Holy fuck does it create a twisted atmosphere

I like the one in Future Breed Machine, because I think it really fits nicely after the solo. I really like something about the one in White Walls too.

Due to my musical preferences, I have absolutely zero concept of what a "breakdown" actually is.
