Dance of Death the 4th best album of the decade? WOW!

I've been a Maiden fan for almost 30 years and that album makes me laugh at times with the cheesy lyrics and vocal structure. I just don't get how people could vote this cd over Gojira - From Mars to Sirius, BTBaM - Colors or Machine Head - The Blackening just to name 3 off the top of my head.

To each his own I guess. Is there a song thats so great on that cd that I'm missing? If you were going to make a best of Maiden cd would any of these songs be considered? Last time I listened to Dance of Death I was pretty sure I would never listen to it again. Even the intros got on my nerves after a while...

Easily my favorite Maiden album of the decade and one of my favorites of theirs overall. Which songs would make a best of Maiden CD? Certainly Paschendale, one of my favorite five Maiden songs, and Rainmaker and Journeyman would have to be considered as well.

Glad I asked because I do really like Paschendale. As for the rest of the cd, I just can't get into it. Rainmaker is one of the songs I was referencing. The start the rain, all can change, wash the tears away chorus is like bad 5th grade poetry to me. It just seems like it repeats those bad lines over and over again to me.

Same with the title track. It's like he's telling a story and just rambling on and on giving you every detail rather than you using your imagination. Seriously if you read the lyrics to that song you will laugh. If I were grading that as 5th grade poetry it would get a C-

I gave it one last listen and it's not a good album in any way to me. Glad I rediscovered Paschendale but 1 song doesn't make an album. I stand by my initial post. That album wouldn't even make my Top 100 let alone #4. To each his own though...
