Grindcore Help

I am currently trying to broaden my "metal horizons" a little bit by trying to get into some Grindcore. I haven't heard much of it, other than a couple bands, and it doesn't seem THAT much like it's my style. But I am a huge fan of other extreme metal.

So where would be a good place for me to start with Grindcore bands?

Thanks.

Good place to start:

Napalm Death - "Scum"
Carcass - "Symphonies of Sickness"

After you've gotten those, I recommend:

Repulsion - "Horrified"
Terrorizer - "World Downfall"

And that's pretty good for the "beginnings" of grindcore.

I like some grind. I am defintely not the resident expert on these boards about grind but I would check out Napalm Death,Bolt Thrower and on the newer side Gaza.

Reek of Putrefaction (Carcass) is also pretty grindy. And if you like production that sounds like it's coming out of Ronald Reagan's collapsed, wrinkled, hairy butthole, then that is the album for you.

I own Necroticism and Heartwork by Carcass, and I've heard alot of songs from the first two and they sound good. I've been meaning to pick them up for awhile now. I've heard a little bit of Terrorizer and they sound like a good band too. I'll check out Repulsion and the older Napalm Death too, all I've really heard by them is newer stuff.

In addition to the above recommendations:

Pig Destroyer- Prowler In the Yard
Agoraphobic Nosebleed- Frozen Corpse Stuffed With Dope

Relapse also has an awesome grind compilation called "This Comp Kills Fascists." It has a good variety of different bands.

I would really only put Bolt Thrower's first album in the grindcore territory, the rest of it is definitely just death metal.

In Battle There is no Law is more crusty and grindy

General grind:
Insect Warfare
Napalm Death
Phobia
Mumakil
SOB
Abscess

Goregrind:
Carcass
Maggut
Dead Infection
Regurgitate
IMPETIGO
early Cattle Decap

Porno grind:
Rompeprop
that's it.

Also maybe some 7 Minutes of Nausea and early Anal Cunt to broaden your noisecore horizons.
