Even though I like Zeppelin more, I'm gonna go with Freebird on this one. The slow ballad part on Freebird is more listenable to whereas after the first few times, everything before the guitar solo on Stairway becomes boring as shit. I also don't like how Page fucking improves (read: butchers) the solo live. Doesn't he already have improv spots on Dazed & Confused and Heartbreaker? On the flipside, the dudes in Skynyrd nail that shit. And of course, Plant singlehandedly made hippies suck with "does anybody remember laughter?"

I can think of 5 different Zeppelin epics I love better than Stairway.

Stairway is overrated as hell and not very good by Zep standards, yes.

Freebird was just never ever ever a good song and you're all lame if you disagree.
