To be honest, I could understand Lamb of God being on some people's list. They wouldn't be on mine, I like them, but they aren't a top 25 band. But for some people, they changed and revolutionized metal (for them) in a good way.

Alright, an "official" top ten. I feel good about this.
1. Iron Maiden 2. Clutch 3. Opeth 4. Rush 5. Mastodon 6. Between the Buried and Me 7. Carcass 8. My Dying Bride 9. Immortal 10. Megadeth Megadeth only falls to 10 because Risk and United Abominations are worse than anything the rest of these bands have ever made (despite not TOTALLY sucking.) Also, I realize this looks like "oh, well he's just representing every facet of his tastes with one band," but that's kind of for a reason. When I want to listen to classic metal a lot, Maiden eats up 75% of that listening; when I want to listen to rock n' roll, Clutch eats up 75%; lotsa prog metal splits between Opeth, Mastodon, and BTBAM; prog rock primarily goes to Rush; death metal to Carcass; doom metal to My Dying Bride; black metal to Immortal; thrash to Megadeth. So, yeah, it's kind of by design. I love all these genres, but when I get on a real genre kick, these are the bands that come to the front of the pack, and I don't need excuses to listen to any of them out of the blue either.
